We’ve all felt it. The moments when you see a male character that exceeds all expectations and you think for a moment, I wish he was my older brother. It could be because of his protectiveness, cool exterior amidst chaos, general badassery, or maybe just his extreme moe-moe levels. Whether you’re a boy wanting a cool older brother or a girl wanting a protective nii-san, there’s the perfect older brother for you in this collective list!
1. Itachi Uchiha, brother of Sasuke Uchiha (Naruto):
If you have seen Naruto and Naruto Shippuden, you know why Itachi Uchiha is #1 in the list. He’s no doubt the best brother in anime universe! He sacrificed every single thing in order to save his little brother, was marked as a murderer and hated by whole village. And when he thought that Sasuke’s in danger, he showed up in Konoha, just so people know that Sasuke’s big brother Itachi Uchiha is still alive.
2. Lelouch Lamperouge, brother of Nunnally Lamperouge (Code Geass)
Seriously this anime is a masterpiece! Lelouch did everything he could for his blind sister before the series end (won’t spoil more, watch it on your own!).
3. Edward Elric, brother of Alphonse Elric (Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood):
Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood is arguably the best anime ever created in the history! Edward Elric is an ideal brother, he will not think even once and sacrifice his life in order to save his brother’s life. Just to bind his little brother’s soul to an armor, he sacrificed his right arm without thinking anything. He truly values his little brother, Alphonse Elric, and would do anything to get his real body back.
4. Killua Zoldyck, brother of Alluka Zoldyck (Hunter X Hunter 2011):
Hunter X Hunter is the best shounen anime with Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood! It was only in the last arc of HxH when Killua and Alluka’s relations were shown. Nobody likes Alluka because of her mysterious ability which changes her face and may result in death of innocent people and she doesn’t has any control over it and so she’s locked up at her home. But his brother Killua is the only person who accepts her and wants to be with her and thus takes her out of the lockup on a journey with him. He really loved her and acknowledges her innocence.
5. Portgas D. Ace, brother of Monkey D. Luffy (One Piece):
Ace’s love for Luffy was more than anything in the whole world, even though they weren’t really blood-brothers but without any hesitation, Ace sacrificed his life in order to save his little brother Luffy, from Akainu Sakazuki’s deadly blow!
6. Kamina, brother of Simon (Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann):
Seriously this anime is EPIC! When it comes to being a bro, nobody can surpass Kamina (though they are not blood related, they still accepted each other that way). And no force in the UNIVERSE can truly separate them. You know that I am serious if you have seen this show!
7. Shunsuke Otosaka, brother of Yuu and Ayumi (Charlotte):
For saving his younger brother and sister, and many more teenagers, he devoted his entire life risking it even after loosing his eyesight. It’s a little complicated to explain it here but you must watch this anime!
8. Sora, brother of Shiro (No Game No Life):
Sora and Shiro, together they make blank, an undefeated duo when it comes to any game. Literally ANY! They support each other’s weaknesses and can’t live without each other. Together, they can defeat the entire world. You know what I am saying if you have seen this anime!
9. Elfman Strauss, brother of Lisanna and Mirajane (Fairy Tail):
This overprotective manly guy can do anything for his sisters. Literally anything!
10. Gohan, brother of Goten (Dragon Ball Z):
Gohan taught Goten how to fly and in order to save Goten, Gohan will definitely sacrifice his life if he needed to.
11. Ichigo Kurosaki, brother of Karin Kurosaki (Bleach):
At a very young age, Ichigo heard his father saying his name means “to protect one thing,” which instilled in him a desire to protect his mother. When his sisters were born, he began attending a dojo for the sake of protecting them.
12. Rin Okumura, brother of Yukio Okumura (Ao No Exorcist):
He always protected Yukio from bullies and encouraged him to chase his dream. and he is really overprotective when it comes to Yukio. Even though he is the elder he looks more younger than Yukio.

absolutely absurd.
itachi is a ruthless, maniacal, mindrapist psychopath.
he brutally ripped sasuke’s mind apart, repeatedly savagely tortured him, beat him to near death, and mocked him repeatedly, committing extreme emotional, physical and verbal abuse nearly every time he saw sasuke. he even ordered sasuke to execute his own best friend in cold blood, for power.
all in the interest of brainwashing sauske to be his own personal executioner, and then later on, enslaving and mind-wiping him to be konoha’s soldier by force, against sasuke’s will.

I don’t know whether you have watched Naruto Shippuden completely or not.. After Itachi died, Obito Uchiha (who goes by the name Tobi and claimed himself to be Madara at that time) explained the truth to Sasuke that:
1. Uchiha clan was going to crush Konoha (danzo had a big role for this situation).
2. Unable to find any other solution, as all of them failed because of Danzo, Uchiha Clan was ordered to be wiped out of Konoha’s peace.
3. As that was the only solution, Itachi Uchiha, who was a member of Anbu rspected the decision and asked 3rd Hokage to let him do the assassination of his own clan.
4. Itachi assassinated his own clan but left his brother alive because he was unable to kill him because of his love for him. Itachi even killed his own parents (who understood the situation and let him kill them).
5. Itachi took the blame of wiping out the Uchiha clan (and thus protected hokage and higher ups names) and left the village (and thus was claled rouge). Only the 3rd hokage and few higher ups knew the truth about Itachi. He asked it to keep it a secret from Sasuke so that he will have a goal to defeat Itachi and will become stronger.
6. Itachi then infiltrated and joined the Akatsuki in order to relay information to the hokage secretly!
7. When Itachi got to know that Danzo planned to kill Sasuke, he infiltrated Konoha and fought with sasuke for a small time. He did that to let Danzo and others know that Itachi is still alive and he is keeping an eye for his brother and will kill them if they hurt him!
8. Just before dying, Itachi realised that Sasuke may become evil so he met Naruto and gave him his crow infused with an extremely powerful mangekyou sharingan (which needs 10years to charge) and asked him to keep it safe as it will be helpful for Sasuke as that genjutsu makes ANY person realise his loyalty to his nation (konoha for Sasuke).
9. Later Itachi got a disease and was about to die. So he finally fought with Sasuke and was defeated and killed by him without telling him the real truth (He wouldnt have been defeated if he wasnt ill. As white Zetsu commented a few times that Itachi’s being more careless and is being slower than normal. And he was also coughing up blood many times).
10. Later Itachi was resurrected by Obito’s Reanimation jutsu and was being a puppet in his hands. But then he was able to break free of the reanimation using that crow which he gave to Naruto and then he went to Kabuto’s hideout to stop the reanimated soldiers war! Even after Death!
11. Itachi (reanimated) gets to meet Sasuke (who now knows the truth) and then they fight togther with Kabuto (like in their childhood) and stops the reanimated soldier war by defeating kabuto! Then Itachi starts disappearing and so finally bids Sasuke a final goodbye!

if you agree that he was simply “taking the blame” then that means theres something to be blamed FOR, and that it was truly a horrific unjustifiable holocaust to murder the entire clan.

itach panicked that sasukes evil was growing out of his control.
and because he wanted a weapon that could ensure konohas corrupt elite could take over the planet, he gave them a superweapon, named sasuke.
he planned to brainwash and enslave sasuke by force to be konoha slave against his will, for all eternity,
his final attempt to torture sasuke and ruin his life.
